“Paradise in Goa!!” Jul 25, 2012 | Trip Type : Couple A truly beautiful place. Serene, peaceful, lush greenery. The property its self is very beautiful, amazing landscaping. They have about 70 species of plants, very rustic and quaint. Ideal for long walks, near the beach, romantic and amazing food and excellent service! Would definitely recommend this place!! “Excellent location to tour Goa” Jun 5, 2012 | Trip Type : Family Great hotel very near to the airport - ideal if you are limited on time you are able to stay in Goa, very helpful staff, brilliant airport transfer and pickup. It is a lovely oasis with a river running through the resort and you can sit at breakfast and be in complete awe of all the wildlife on your doorstep - beautiful kingfishers darting along the riverbank. The rooms are well furnished in dark wood with a small balcony overlooking the river, breakfast was great and cooked to order - the beach was a stroll away and became very busy in the day. It is a great location to visit and tour Goa. “Nice and peaceful option” Apr 20, 2012 | Trip Type : Couple After doing a lot of scouting on Trip Advisor we got a decent idea about what to expect from Devasthali. As me and my husband had seen the 'happening' part of Goa(read North Goa) we wanted to explore the peaceful side of Goa. Liked: The place is peaceful, calm...the landscape a bit reminds you of the lush coconut treed Kerala...and the little creek behind too... The rooms are very very nicely done. With all the amenities it's got a classy look with Indian hints in the overall setting. The place is nicely tucked inside, so it's far away from the 'touristy' tourists as such (which is what made it peaceful too: P)...what you rather see all around are the lush surroundings. The restaurant's food is really good!! On some nights they also have live music. The ambiance is easy going...staff is friendly. “In the middle of Goa” Mar 19, 2012 | Trip Type : Family Best Western Devasthali Resort in Goa, is really a relaxing and peaceful place to stay; the hotel is surrounded by nature and near the sea; very close to the Bogmallo and Hollant beaches. The hotel restaurant is always available, both during day and night time. The hotel staff is customer oriented, always ready to afford your requests. The Resort is located near the airport, and represents the right place to be based and visit Goa state. “Relax in comfort” Mar 19, 2012 | Trip Type : Couple A wonderful hotel with great cuisine, large rooms, welcoming staff and very close to the airport. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place to be. Coconut palms and banana trees abound, making it feel like the tropics. The pool is a wonderful reprieve from the heat. What I liked the most was being able to be outdoors at any time because of the room balcony and the outdoor restaurant and I could walk around the area for some exercise. Bogmallo beach is a free shuttle ride away and the city of Vasco can be arrived at by local bus from Bogmallo. “Comfort at a new level.” Mar 17, 2012 | Trip Type : Solo Location close to airport, 2 beaches in vicinity, great rooms, accommodating and helpful staff, cute swimming pool, great food be it Italian, Indian or good old burger American style. Fabulous spacious rooms, great sleeping atmosphere and comfort.. “And I thought it couldn’t get better!!! Devasthali rocks.” Mar 12, 2012 | Trip Type : Family This is my 3rd visit to Devasthali and I bless its proximity to the airport. Despite the nearness, it is perfectly ensconced between coconut groves and paddy fields with a hill on one side giving you total peace of mind and privacy. Day 1 Wed 7th Mar - reached Goa at 4pm and was in the hotel at 4.10pm. Spent the remaining day lounging around the pool with my kid and some games of pool as well. Cycled (hotel provided) down the the green path to the beach to view the sunset with a couple of downers in our hand to make it the perfect setting. Late dinner at MJs fine dining (hotel restaurant) with some great Indian fare.Day 2 Thurs (holi day) - the hotel encouraged a light holi with water and dry color. Super fun and my little babies desire to play holi was taken care off. A number of foreign guests around did not mind a light participation. We took the hotel shuttle to the Bogmallo beach (5mins drive) to shop. I hear the hotels planning a number of flea shops and coffee shops on its estate). Day 3 - we moved around north Goa to Brettos and shacks around. Reached the hotel late to join them for a Karaoke session and an Italian dinner. Day 4 (final day) - Spa treatment (*****/5) in the afternoon and a shopping expedition at Ingo’s (night market at Arpora). When we returned we had a FANTASTIC candlelight Goan dinner lined up at the hotel restaurant with the perfect weather, ambience and an absolutely delightful Live band. The hotel has a subtle charm with its very tastefully designed interiors and landscaping. The magical candlelight dinner with live music needs a special mention. The staff is very attentive and the hotel manager goes out of his way to address every need Rooms are large and with very comfortable beds. The property is actually very large (8-9 acres) and a small part has been utilized for this resort. I believe some grand plans are afoot to increase the hotel size manifold. So, more of a good thing. I m so looking forward to my next Devasthali holiday. “" Feel at Home"” Mar 11, 2012 | Trip Type : Couple We travelled to the hotel from 8.3.12 - 10.3.12 being a couple and a friend in one room. The hotel is just around a 5-10 min drive from the airport and free transfers are offered by them for the same. On our arrival we were greeted by the warm staff with a refreshing welcome juice and were checked in to the room within no time. The rooms were very spacious with a small kitchenette, locker, mini bar, hot kettle with coffee and tea sachets, toiletries which included shower gel, shampoo and body lotion, tub and a small balcony that can accommodate two chairs which is surrounded by coconut trees in the backdrop. All in all a fantastic room with 5* amenities. The surrounding of the hotels were beautifully trimmed gardens, a nice little pool with an adjoined kiddies pool. Facilities included a pool table, carom board, video game, spa ( which was not tried by us), a beautiful fine dine restaurant with delicious food and moderately priced , a pool side bar with good music and 6-7 sun beds around the pool, wifi in all the rooms and hotel premises. All in all a cute little property which is beautifully spread over the hotel premises. The most terrific part about the hotel was its service. A swift check in, great free shuttle to the Bogmallo beach on demand, even during the non operating hours. Arrangement of a taxi with a great driver. They even allowed me to play my music on their pool side bar, quick service for the food ordered by us, they even chilled our beers bought from out, allowed us to chill in the pool even after the closing hours, very well made breakfast according to our taste. All in all a very efficient and smiling staff & manager always ready to help you out. To conclude a great property with feel at home service, great to stay if you have a transport and a group of friends or family. Great property for one night transit from the airport also. Cheers to the staff and management of best western Devasthali!! “Perfect Hotel In Goa” Feb 24, 2012 | Trip Type : Solo I stayed here for 1 night & the services here are mind blowing. Staff is always there to help you at any point of time. Rooms are amazing very well spacious. “Amazing Honeymoon Stay” Feb 7, 2012 | Trip Type : Couple We came here for honeymoon. We were surprised when we entered the entered they welcome us with a Bottle of Champagne, cake, bouquet. We were more amazed when they give us a Candle light dinner. It’s like we never expected this things they all are a surprise for us. Must say our planning for Honey moon in India & our decision to choose Best Western Devasthali is beyond our expectations great, awesome. I will definitely send my friends to visit this resort when so ever they will come to India “Simply lovely!!!!” Jan 24, 2012 | Trip Type : Couple Best hotel stayed so far!!! Been there on my honeymoon. We were looking for a very peaceful trip. Read the review of this hotel on Trip Advisor. They offered free upgrade and gave us the room right in front of the pool. Heavily peaceful location. Great staff.... greatest food very good place for lazy people for just relax. We didn’t even hear sound of vehicle for almost 5 days. Hollant beach is very near to the hotel. A walk in the evening to the hotel is worth taking. The beach is more peaceful. Would recommend it to peace loving people. If you are a group of friends going to Goa for full masti. This might not suit you. But for couples/families this best!! “Relaxing and Peaceful” Dec 29, 2011 | Trip Type : Couple Liked the place, secluded, far from city noise, rooms are way too good, clean and cozy with all comforts you can ask for. Food is excellent but a bit overpriced. Staff is very friendly. They will support you 24x7. Cocktails are mind-blowing. Nearby beaches and natural beauty from your balcony adds to everything rest. Must have your own transport to wonder around. “Fabulous escape for real relaxation” Nov 10, 2011 | Trip Type : Family We stayed 7 days at Great Western Devasthali in a 2 bedroom family suite. The staff of this hotel was very helpful, friendly and clearly they enjoyed their work! Nothing was ever a problem. There was always a big happy face of all who worked there. You can see there is a lot of pride in the care and maintenance of the grounds. The restaurant had nice food and the chef did well to accommodate our request for gluten free food for our daughter. Some minor maintenance glitches in the room (leak in one bathroom but this was rectified swiftly); satellite TV went on the blink for a few minutes each day and some short burst brown-outs, but this is India. The internet connection (free Wi-Fi) was very good. Housekeeping and Reception staff was friendly... Big mentions- Andrew (waiter), Romeo (maintenance) and Catherine (housekeeping) - always cheery and ever-ready to assist. There is a shuttle bus (free) to the nearest surf beach. The local bay is not good for swimming but can enjoy a peaceful stroll and can watch locals fishing. The pool on site is small but immaculate. There are plans to extend this hotel - would love to get back in a few years. The hotel is a little isolated but it’s not expensive to get about. A peaceful retreat. Not a lot on site for young children but our 'tweens' enjoyed the pool, pool table and the surf beach. “Restful and peaceful relaxation” Nov 1, 2011 | Trip Type : Couple While trying to book our accommodation at another hotel, the Manager there was very kind to refer us to the Devasthali Best Western Hotel according to the criteria and standard we were looking for during our stay in Goa back in May 2011. We indeed found this place very interesting and peaceful amidst natural surroundings. The hotel is attractive, neat, and clean and the accommodation offered aims to international standards. The rooms are also spacious and have openings onto terraces and one can appreciate the beautiful sight of cows grazing in the coconut groves nearby, the chirping of birds and especially kingfisher birds hunting over the river flowing by. Food offered by MJ’s Restaurant was prepared such that one could always find some nice and delicious dish to one’s likings and taste. The hotel and restaurant personnel were very caring and charming people. We post this photo in souvenir of our first sighting of the Devasthali Best Western Hotel in Goa (and subsequently every time on our way back from outings) where we had a pleasant and memorable ten days’ stay. “Therapeutic, relaxing, peaceful” Sep 28, 2011 | Trip Type : Family This was my second visit and I decided to stay in this resort with my daughter for five days. This place calls you back for its peacefully comforting environment. We stayed in the executive suite and my 14 yr old daughter enjoyed being so close to nature; hearing the rustling of leaves, chirping of birds, looking at fishes and lotus in the stream behind our suite, The staff was extremely courteous and the food at the restaurant MJ, was great. We did try food outside the resort but were disappointed as we missed the friendly staff of Devasthali taking extra special care to make us happy. We also enjoyed going to Bogmallo beach by their complimentary shuttle. The best part of this resort is it is close to the airport, city and beaches, yet far from the maddening crowd. One can be lost in the nature and have a private vacation, without being in the 1crowd. My daughter and I simply love Devasthali and would surely go back again. “The WOW Factor!!!” Sep 14, 2011 | Trip Type : Couple I spent 3 nights and 4 days at this resort and it was a magnificent experience. The place is amazing....super peaceful. It is very close to the airport, before you realize you are already there in the resort. On arrival, we were greeted very warmly and accompanied to our room which was elaborately arranged to Perfection. The room was rather large, well furnished and had the ’WOW’ factor to it. The Attached bath was extremely clean and fitted with a bath tub and a standing showerhead. Worth mentioning here, would be the VIEW from each room, I could endlessly gaze into coconut grooves for hours in the morning. Very relaxing and therapeutic, far away from the mad world that we live in. The staff was extraordinarily courteous and helpful, the grounds were beautiful and impeccably kept and the ecological attentions were also very thoughtful. There was more than enough to do for several days like walk to the beach (which is couple of 100 meters from the resort), cycle and explore the hills, play pool, laze in the swimming pool, fish to watch and feed and much more…I stayed in the executive suite but it's worth paying a bit more for one of the family suites as they are stunningly beautiful and worth every rupee. If you are a foodie and like to experiment then give yourself away- follow chef’s recommendation coz he really knows what he's doing. Thumbs up for food quality and presentation at fine dining at MJ’s. I must say that this was one of the most satisfying hotel experiences I have ever had. “"We loved it and we'll be back"” Aug 16, 2011 | Trip Type : Couple The experience of Devasthali was a total experience of value for money. My husband is a computer geek has searched all hotels and among various options he choose Devasthali, the experience was amazing be it food, rooms all was nice; we were more delighted with the service. I can say that it made our honeymoon special. We would definitely like to come again. “Quiet little hidden treasure” May 30, 2011 | Trip Type : Couple If you wanna escape backpackers and shops in Goa this is the place to be. Would highly recommend a 3 night stay to relax and just be. Wild life outside your door step, excellent food (yes more pricy than other places but still cheap) and service. Close to the airport. More than 3 days stay you will be bored. Hotel could have had a spa and maybe a tennis court on the undevelope area. Bring your running shoes for some excercise but be aware of falling coconuts! They need to update their pictures online because the hotel looks so much better in real life. Truly the valley of gods Nov 12, 2010 | Trip Type : Family Devasthali is a perfect place to be if you want a get away from the maddening city life. It has a lush green coconut grove right across and in the middle is a natural spring with tiny fishes in it...while i enjoyed my sumptuous meals i would always like to share a bite or two with my friends in water. I went during the monsoon and trust me never had i enjoyed the rains more...Me and my family would spend a lot of quality time in the cozy rooms and our evenings would be by the pool side with drinks and snacks. I would like to share my father's experience ie. in the evening, while he floated in the pool he would just stare at the starry sky n would enjoy looking at the tall trees merging into the sky. It's beautiful. Awaiting my next trip now. |
